About the service
What exactly does Sitently do?
When someone calls your business and nobody answers, Sitently sends that caller a text message within about seven seconds, asking what they need. An automated assistant then has a normal back-and-forth conversation with them, checks your calendar for openings, offers real available times, and books the appointment once they confirm. On the day of the appointment, it texts them a reminder.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. You keep the number on your signs, trucks, business cards, and Google listing. We give you a separate number behind the scenes, and you set your existing line to forward unanswered calls to it. Your customers never know the difference.
Will this pick up calls I would have answered?
No. We recommend conditional forwarding, which only sends us calls you didn't answer. Calls you pick up never touch our system, ring with no added delay, and cost you nothing.
What calendar does it work with?
Whichever one you already use. The system is built so the calendar is swappable per business rather than forcing everyone onto one platform. If you don't keep a digital calendar today, we can host your schedule for you.
What if the assistant can't answer something?
It sticks to scheduling and gathering details about the job. For anything outside that, the conversation is saved to your dashboard so you can pick it up yourself. It does not quote prices or make promises on your behalf.
Can I see what it said to my customers?
Yes. You get a login to your own dashboard where you can read every conversation word for word, see what each customer was asking about, and track how many missed calls turned into booked appointments.
What does it cost?
There's a one-time setup fee and a flat monthly fee, both quoted after a free consultation, based on your call volume. There's no long-term contract. Get a quote.
How long does setup take?
Most of the work is on our side: provisioning your number, connecting your calendar, and writing the assistant's instructions around the services you actually offer. On your end it's a consultation and setting call forwarding on your line.
About the text messages
Who receives text messages from Sitently?
Only people who contacted one of our client businesses first, by calling them, or who explicitly opted in through a form on this website. We do not send marketing messages, we do not buy phone number lists, and we never message anyone who hasn't reached out first.
How does someone consent to receive messages?
Three ways, each started by the person themselves: by calling a participating business and not reaching anyone (the reply text is a direct response to their own call), by pressing 1 when prompted during that unanswered call, or by entering their number and checking the consent box on our Text Messaging Program page.
How do I stop receiving messages?
Reply STOP to any message. You can also reply CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, or END. You'll get one confirmation and nothing after that. Reply HELP at any time for help.
How many messages will I get?
Message frequency varies with your conversation. A typical interaction is a handful of messages while scheduling, plus one reminder on the day of the appointment. Message and data rates may apply.
Will my phone number be shared or sold?
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share your number with lead generators or data brokers. See our Privacy Policy.
Am I texting a real person?
The scheduling conversation is handled by an automated assistant on behalf of the business you called. Every message identifies the business by name. The business can read the whole conversation and follow up with you directly.
